NatureFresh Farms Greenhouse Education Center

NatureFresh Farms launched a mobile hydroponic greenhouse education center demonstrating to students and consumers exactly how their produce is grown in the 21st century. Highlighting soilless, sustainable growing techniques that are used in their greenhouse production facilities in the U.S. and Canada, The Greenhouse Education Center is a living greenhouse, built on a 38 foot long truck, that actually grows tomatoes and peppers in a soilless coco peat media via the drip irrigation hydroponic method. There is even a beehive on board to help pollinate the living, growing crops.

Currently in its second year of operation, public response to The Greenhouse Education Center is overwhelmingly positive, with over 60 events attended this year already. Not only do those who happen by one of these events see how fresh hydroponic produce is grown, they have the opportunity to sample fresh grown vegetables as well. The hash tagged #GreenInTheCity Tour will continue touring through November 13, where it will wrap up this year’s season at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto.

NatureFresh Farms prides themselves on showing folks how they grow your food, but they also want consumers to taste the quality of hydroponic grown greenhouse vegetables.

Upcoming locations for the hydroponic greenhouse education truck’s #GreenInTheCity Tour events include stops in Erie, Pennsylvania; Lambertville, Michigan; Holland, Ohio; Waterville, Ohio; Perrysburg, Ohio; Sunbury, Ohio; Mt. Vernon, Ohio; Mansfield, Ohio; Sandusky, Ohio; Hudson, Ohio; Brecksville, Ohio; Aurora, Ohio; Twinsburg, Ohio; Woodbridge, New Jersey; Princeton, New Jersey; Glen Mills, Pennsylvania; Shaker Heights, Ohio; and multiple locations in Cleveland, Ohio. Check the event page here for specific dates and times.

NatureFresh Farms is family owned and managed, growing non-GMO produce all year long and distributing them through key retailers. They have growing facilities in both Leamington, Ontario and Delta, Ohio.
